Color Library
The Color Library contains over 50,000 named colors that you can browse, search, and use in your palettes.
Browsing colors
Navigate to Colors in the main navigation to open the library.
Each color card shows:
- The color swatch
- The color name
- Hex value
- Keyword tags (e.g., "warm", "cool", "neutral")
Searching
Use the search bar to find colors by:
- Name — Type part of a color name (e.g., "coral", "midnight").
- Keyword — Search by descriptive tags (e.g., "earthy", "pastel").
- Hex code — Enter a hex value (e.g.,
#FF6347). If no exact match exists, PerfectPalette shows the nearest named color.
Filtering
Narrow results using the filter controls:
- Hue family — Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Brown, or Neutral.
- Collection — Filter by curated collection.
- Theme — Filter by color theme.
Sorting
Sort results by:
- Name (A-Z or Z-A)
- Hue
- Lightness
- Saturation
- Newest
Color details
Click any color to view its detail panel:
- Color conversions — See the color in RGB, HSL, HSV, LAB, LCH, and OKLCH.
- Scales and variations — View tints, shades, and tones derived from the color.
- Psychology and symbolism — Learn about the emotional associations of the color.
- Inspired palettes — See palette suggestions built around the color.
Favorites
Click the star icon on any color card to add it to your personal favorites. Favorites are saved to your account.
Pagination
Results are shown 60 at a time. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to navigate through pages.
